All Don Baker wants is to establish his independence, which is not easy as he has an over-protective mother. He finally moves into an apartment on his own, and makes a contract with his mother not to visit him for two months. One month in, he meets and falls for his new neighbour Jill Tanner, a free-thinking actress from whom Don learns the kinds of things that his mother would never have taught him. Jill in turn learns from Don what growing up and being free is really all about.

SHADY BUSINESS

Mandy and Tania are struggling nightclub dancers living in Soho, the heart of London’s nightlife, and they are in crisis. Will possessive club owner Big Mack find out about Mandy’s affair with Gerry and Tania’s affair with Terry, and set his sidekicks on them both? Will he discover that he’s owed money, which was stolen from him in the first place, gambled on his own roulette table in the second place, and borrowed back from him in the third place? Will Gerry be found hiding in Mandy’s bathroom and Terry be caught delivering the dinner? Will Terry reveal that he’s really Gerry and Gerry is Terry? Will anyone ever find out what the hell is going on, and will they save their skins before the curtain comes down? A cross between Guys and Dolls and Some Like It Hot, the action doesn’t stop until the climactic conclusion.

George and Charlotte Hay are fading stars of the 1950s. They are performing in a rep company in Buffalo, New York. On the brink of a disastrous split-up caused by George's dalliance with a young ingénue, they receive word they might have one last shot at stardom. Frank Capra is coming to see their matinee. If he likes what he sees, he might cast them in his movie The Scarlet Pimpernel. Unfortunately for George and Charlotte, everything that could go wrong does, abetted by a visit from their daughter's clueless fiancé and hilarious uncertainty about which play they are actually performing.

An unwell Winnie accompanies her heavily pregnant mum to clean the house of Kevin Tate, a philandering, minor television personality. For the next few hours Winnie will amass plenty of material for her homework essay 'My Wonderful Day', as a variety of adults parade before her: Kevin's patronising mistress, his vengeful wife, and the hungover family friend. As events reach a frenzied climax, Winnie's essay will speak volumes.

Lunacy presented with a poker face is the engine driving this classic comedy. Set in London in 1965, the story revolves around the members of the McLeavy family and the events surrounding the death and subsequent burial of the family matriarch. Playing with the conventions of popular farce, the play examines English attitudes and perceptions in the mid twentieth century to death, religion and the public perspective of the police force with regard to laws and corruption. The play won several awards in its London run.

THE ONE DAY OF THE YEAR

Alan Seymour's 'The One Day of the Year' has become a classic of the Australian stage since its first publication in 1958, a time when its subject matter generated some controversy - and indeed, it still does.
The play does not pull any punches, following the story of a young university student, Hughie Cook, who helps his girlfriend Jan write a newspaper article which is critical of the ANZAC Day memorial and celebrations. Hughie's father is an ex-serviceman, and conflict engendered between Alf and his son is at the emotional heart of the play's action.
