LOOKING FOR ACTORS!!!

​

We will be holding auditions for our September BAREBOARDS event on:

  • Wednesday, 25 June from 7:30pm to 9pm

  • Sunday, 29 June from 2pm to 3:30pm

  • Wednesday, 2 July from 7:30pm to 9pm

  • Sunday, 6 July from 2pm to 3:30pm

 

No need to book an audition date/time, just show up at one of the scheduled audition times.

​

You may audition for multiple roles. If there is an audition piece provided, please have it prepared for your audition.

 

You must be available for ALL performances & tech rehearsals.

 

Performances will be held on 10, 12, 13 September from 8pm to 10pm.

 

Tech rehearsals will be held on 8 & 9 September from 7pm.

 

Rehearsals commence in July. Rehearsal dates will vary for each play depending on director/cast.

**NOTE: Auditions are open to all members. Non-financial members are also welcome to audition, however if cast, you will be required to become a financial member of the Arts Theatre Cronulla. The membership fee is $25 - payable once your involvement is confirmed.**​

Genre: Drama

​

Synopsis:

Following their mother’s funeral, four estranged siblings meet at her solicitors office. They discover more about their mother than expected as her spirit watches over them, full of love & guilt.
Will this drive them further apart or unite them?

 

Characters:

ACTOR - mid to late 20s, dramatic, irresponsible, child-like, youngest sibling.​

WRITER - 30s, defeated, sarcastic, antagonistic, 2nd eldest sibling.

MUM - mid 30s, positive, caring, nurturing, 3rd eldest sibling.

LAWYER - 40s, professional, uptight, detached, eldest sibling.

MOTHER - 60s, spirit, in limbo, loving, guilt-ridden.

Synopsis:

Mitchell has problems socialising and communicating but manages quite well with the help of Lauren, his caring older sister. But circumstances intervene to hand Lauren a difficult choice to make – her career or her brother?

Characters:

MITCHELL - (20s to early 30s) Introverted, sometimes uncommunicative, has great difficulty with physical contact. 

LAUREN - Mitchell’s slightly older sister. She is bright, efficient and caring but has problems dealing with him.​

THE MUSEUM OF TEARS

Synopsis:

Three officers are allowed to choose which two of them will take part in a prisoner of war exchange. Each wants the other two to go. But what are the real reasons for their apparent selflessness?

A SCHOOL MUM'S CATCH-UP

​

Synopsis:

A simple school mum’s catch up delves into some fairly complex issues leading to some drastic life- changing.

​

Characters:

MARIA - (43), unhappily married to George, RIA (for short) knows her husband is cheating on her.
JESSICA - (48), flighty and still feels and still acts like she’s in her early thirties. JESS (for short) is married to Chris, and they have a 13 and an 8-year-old. TAMMY - (45), mum to a 13 and 9-year-old. TAM (for short) is 10 weeks pregnant, married to her husband, James.
WENDY - (52), recently separated, working out co-parenting arrangements with Andrew, the father of her children. WEN (for short) is wise, calm and comfortable in her own skin.
SASHA - (55), waiter at the restaurant, single, the girls like to call him Ssaashshaa.

WOMEN OF THE WORLD

​

Synopsis:

Ready to take on the world, three young women in their first share house celebrate their independence before an uninvited guest upsets the party.

​

Characters:

ASH - Bright, enthusiastic & confident, Ash often assumes herself leader of the three. A secret arachnophobe, Ash’s confidence is put to the test when the team relies on her when the going gets (spider) tough.
MADDI - Wanna-be-independent, Maddi feeds off Ash’s confidence & enthusiasm. Maddi is led quite easily. Her character must however, step up when their leader can’t.
LUCY - A reluctant follower, Lucy feels compelled to follow her friends & get out of her comfort zone. As a realist, Lucy has trouble hiding her anxiety, but she’s not afraid to concede defeat, ultimately stepping in and uncovering the real women of the world.
