The Committee calls for expressions of interest from members wishing to be considered as Directors for our 2026 season.

To be eligible, you need have:
a) previously directed at the Arts Theatre.
b) directed elsewhere and your work is known to the Committee.
c) completed the Arts Theatre’s ‘New Directors’ program. Click HERE to read the Director's Guidelines.
d) confirmed rights availability at time of submission.
If you qualify, you need to do the following:​
Prior to submission please make a thoughtful and considered choice by assessing the suitability for Arts Theatre audiences.

1. Complete the submission cover sheet with details of each play submitted, confirming availability of rights and your preference for season placement. Click HERE to download the cover sheet.
NB: The Theatre’s policy is that a play have a minimum cast of four, although exceptional plays with less may be considered at Committee of Management’s discretion.
2. Each play requires an anonymous pitch sheet, which should include any casting, staging issues which may arise and possible solutions. Click HERE to download the pitch sheet.
3. Scripts must be submitted in digital PDF format.

Applications close on 31 May 2025.

An acknowledgement of receipt of your application will be sent by email.
​
The Play Selection Committee will make a selection by 31 July 2025.
All applicants will be notified of their status, in writing, after the August Committee meeting.
