LOOKING FOR ACTORS!!!

We will be holding auditions Monday, June 24th & Wednesday, June 26th at 7:30pm.

Rehearsals to commence from July. Rehearsal dates will vary for each play depending on director/cast.

 

Performances will be held on September 11th, 13th & 14th from 8pm to 10:30pm.

 

Tech rehearsals will be held on September 9th & 10th from 7pm.

1. A MUMMY’S BOY

PLAY LENGTH: 20 minutes

 

NUMBER OF CHARACTERS - 5

MALE: 1 

Edmund Falkner - 30s to 40s. Finds it difficult to make decisions. Loves his mother.

 

FEMALE: 4

Jocelyn Falkner (also Bride 4) - mid-50s to 60s. Matriarch type. Very wealthy. Wants the very best for her son.

Ashley (also Bride 1) - 30s to 40s. Very beautiful woman. Has a lot of life experience. 

Daisy (also Bride 2) - 30s to 40s. Academic. Very intelligent.

Cassie (also Bride 3) - 30s to 40s. Eager personality but gets frustrated easily.

 

GENRE: Comedy

 

SYNOPSIS: Edmund Falkner has recently been engaged to Cassie. However, Edmund has been having recurrent nightmares which feature brides saying cryptic statements. Edmund’s mother, Jocelyn, is returning from overseas and Edmund is keen to introduce Cassie to Jocelyn. Will this meeting go well or cause another relationship breakup?

2. WHEN WE WERE YOUNG

MALE:  2

Nolan: Late 20‘s-30’s. Loves his wife but gets bored.

Stephen: 30s. Rhianne’s teacher.

 

FEMALE: 3/4

Evelyn: 30s. Late 20’s/30’s housewife. Loves her husband but is constantly disappointed by his double standards.

Evelyn: 80s. Married to Nolan for 60 years.

Lilly-Anne: 20’s. Nolan’s mistress. Dances and Sings. Non-speaking.

Rhianne: Evelyn & Nolan’s young daughter. Can be mimed.

 

GENRE:  Drama 

 

SYNOPSIS: Evelyn and Nolan have a damaged marriage. Evelyn now 80 looks back on what life for them was like when they were young. The characters also dance the Tango as a metaphor for the passion, love and raw sexuality they experience throughout their journey.

    

NOTE:

Actors must be able to dance and be willing to learn to Tango.

3. THE 529 TO THE CEMETERY

Steven: 30s.

Queenie: 20 to 30.

 

GENRE: Comedy

 

SYNOPSIS: 

Three mates on a bus to the cemetery. They are on a mission. They are masters of their world. Unbeknown to our mother's little helpers, there is a lady who is about to come in and rule their world.

 

4. END OF THE ROAD

Written & directed by Graham Yates

MALE: 2

Norman Neavis: (50 to 70). A bit of a grumpy smart arse.

Howard Longfellow Murchison III: (30 to 50). American heir to a fortune. 

 

FEMALE: 1

Virginia Neavis: (40 to 50). A bit bossy and opinionated.

 

GENRE: Dark comedy

 

SYNOPSIS: 

Norman and Virginia, a bickering married couple, are looking forward to receiving the first guest at their B&B cottage. Virginia has hatched a plan to extract much needed extra revenue from their visitor – over Norman’s protests. But once their guest turns up, the situation takes a dramatic turn.
